Richard “Ric” H. Youlden Jr

WAREHAM – Richard “Ric” H. Youlden Jr went on his “Last Adventure” crossing over the “Rainbow Bridge” to be with his wife Dianne and family members, friends, & beloved pets for a great reunion. 

Richard peacefully passed away on August 2, 2026, due to complications from an 8-yr battle (2018-2026) with Pulmonary Fibrosis. He was very proud & happy with his family life, accomplishments, military service (Army), & traveling adventures. Born in Milo, Maine in 1944 and raised in Westwood, MA. He was the eldest son of Richard H Youlden & Ellen D Youlden (deceased). After a tour in Vietnam, he met Dianne Eckebrecht, also from Westwood of and it was love at first sight. They married in April 1972 and had 2 children, Derek (1973) & Kristen (1978). Richard and Dianne went on to raise their family starting in Taunton, MA., and then finally settling in Wareham, MA. Richard was a Computer Operations Manager at Arley Merchandise for many years until turning to real estate where he became a successful and respected realtor in Falmouth and throughout Cape Cod, MA. His wife Dianne Youlden, unfortunately passed away in 2007. 

One of Richards most beloved “hobbies” was gardening. Over the course of many years, Richard meticulously crafted and cultivated his yard…and entire property into a botanical wonderland. He took great pride in his flowering trees, rare and exotic lilies and plants that are breathtaking to behold to this day along with his Koi ponds and waterfalls.

Richard was also extremely proud of his family’s military service heritage stemming from his grandfathers (WWI), father (WWII + Korea), himself (Vietnam), and his son Derek (Desert Storm & Desert Shield). He was also very proud of his daughter’s vast figure skating career.

Richard is survived by his son, Derek Youlden and his wife Susan; his two grandchildren, Megan Youlden and Matthew Youlden; his daughter, Kristen Youlden; his sister, Nancy (Youlden) Williams; his niece, Cara Strock, and nephew, Troy Williams; his brother Keith Youlden and his wife Mary; and his nieces, Emily Haverstick and Anna Hagerman.

Visiting hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at Chapman Funerals & Cremations – WAREHAM, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham, his funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. 

Burial will be in Agawam Cemetery, Wareham.
