Revolutionary War Muster Field Recognition Day
Wareham will celebrate the Revolutionary War’s 250th anniversary with a Muster Field Recognition Day at the former Decas School field on Sept. 19 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Muster Field was used by the Wareham Minutemen and Militia Companies to assemble and drill. Enjoy a militia encampment and demonstration of colonial life. Hear a file and drum corps play music.
In 1975, a plaque was placed on a stone at the Decas School field to honor those who fought for Wareham 250 years ago. The plaque has been missing for several years and thanks to the Minutemen and Militia Companies, a new plaque will be installed to replace the missing plaque.
The plaque ceremony begins at 1 p.m. The event is open to the public at 760 Main St.
This event is sponsored by Wareham Minutemen and Militia Companies, with a grant from Cape Cod 5.
