WAREHAM – Miriam M. (Lawson) Troy, 87, of Wareham, passed away on Feb. 10, 2024, at Sippican Healthcare Center, Marion. She was the wife of the late Robert D. Troy. Her former husband, David L. Pittsley, Jr. died in 2016. She was the daughter of the late Carl E. and Miriam L. (Gregory) Lawson.

She was born in Providence, RI and raised in Newport, RI. She then lived in Florida for many years before moving to Wareham. She graduated from the Evening Adult Education Program at Freetown-Lakeville Regional School District and from Fisher Junior College in Boston.

Mrs. Troy owned and operated Nu-Look Beauty Salon in Assonet for many years. Later, she worked for the Plymouth County Sherrif’s Department and as a Realtor for Coldwell Banker.

She enjoyed painting, ceramics and knitting.

Survivors include her sons, Lawrence D. Pittsley of East Taunton and Dennis A. Pittsley of East Wareham; 4 grandchildren, Dylan Pittsley and his wife, Lillie, Elizah Pittsley, Emmaline Proctor, Nicole Pittsley; 6 great grandchildren, Aria, Violet, Cheyenne, Colton, Kailey and Travis; her nieces, Jeri Goulart of New Bedford, Amy Burnham of Est Taunton, and Elli Wing of Taunton. She was the mother of the late David L. Pittsley, III and sister of the late Charles E. Lawson.

Her Memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Chapman Funerals & Cremations – WAREHAM, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham. Burial will follow in the Assonet Burying Ground, Assonet.
