WAREHAM – Joseph P. Ryan, 65, of Wareham died Wednesday, January 31, 2024 unexpectedly.

Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Robert and Marianne (Jorg) Ryan.  He previously lived in Dorchester before moving to Wareham.

Joseph was an ironworker and a member of Ironworkers Local No. 7 in Boston and worked on the “Big Dig” project.  He was also a member of Wareham/New Bedford Lodge of Elks in Wareham.  He also enjoyed collecting coins, and listening to and collecting music.

Survivors include his daughter, Alyx Ryan of Worcester; his brothers and sisters, Ingrid Marino of Waltham, Jake Ryan of Braintree, Margaret Ryan of Wareham; his great uncle and godfather, Bill Ryan of Chelsea, and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his brothers, late Kevin R. Ryan, Robert Ryan and James Ryan, and his sister, the late Patricia Robbins.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Chapman Funerals & Cremations – Wareham, 2599 Cranberry Hwy. (Rt. 28), Wareham from 9 to 11 a.m. A graveside service will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Tihonet Rd., Wareham at 11:30 a.m.
