Janet (Rawding) Jones, 79

WAREHAM – Janet (Rawding) Jones, 79, of Wareham, passed away on Feb. 9, 2026, at Wingate at Silverlake, Kingston. She was the wife of the late John “Jack” Jones and the daughter of the late Burton R. and Nancy (Schneider) Rawding.

She was born in Norwood and raised in Walpole. She lived for many years in Wrentham before moving to Wareham. She graduated from Downey High School.

Mrs. Jones worked as a secretary for J. F. McDonald Flooring Norwood for many years. Previously she worked for Mayflower Moving Company in Franklin.

She was a longtime volunteer for the Wareham Police Department and at local festivals and events within the Town of Wareham. She enjoyed boating, knitting and gardening.

Survivors include her sons, John Jones and his wife, Kristin of Plainville and Mark Jones and his wife Cindy of Carver; her grandchildren, John Jones, Tim Jones, Kaitlyn Jones, Nicholas Jones, Adam Jones-Mcdavid and Mason Jones; her sister, Nancy Kress of Upland, CA and Ron Rawding of Downey, CA. She was the sister of the late William Rawding and Gail Rawding.

Visiting hours are from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at Chapman Funerals & Cremations – WAREHAM, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham. A memorial service will follow at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
