Sippican Woman's Club Scholarships

Feb 13, 2026

The Sippican Woman’s Club is pleased to announce that it will award four Scholarships, each up to  $2,500, to graduating high school seniors who reside in Marion. Scholarships are based on academic achievement, co-curricular involvement, community service, and financial need.

One recipient will also receive the $500 Lu Chevrier Award, presented to a student who plans to pursue teaching or has demonstrated a commitment to teaching through tutoring or mentoring. The award honors Lu Chevrier, a former President of the Club and longtime board member.

In addition, the Club will award eight Renewal/Continuing Education Scholarship awards, each up to $500, to Marion residents currently enrolled in a post-secondary college or training program. These scholarships are intended to support students continuing their academic journey beyond their initial year of study, including current college students—as well as individuals pursuing career-advancing coursework, professional certifications, or trade and technical programs. The Club is proud to support lifelong learning and educational advancement at all stages.

Applications are available HERE and through the guidance departments at Old Rochester Regional High School, Tabor Academy, Falmouth Academy, Bishop Stang High School, Old Colony Regional Technical High School, and Upper Cape Cod Regional Technical High School.  Applications must be received by April 15.

The Club also presents the Alice Ryder Book Award to the highest-ranking 8th grade English student. Alice Ryder served as President of the Sippican Woman’s Club three times and authored Lands of Sippican, a history of Marion, Rochester, and Mattapoisett.

Founded in 1904, the Sippican Woman’s Club is a nonprofit organization dedicated to social, educational, and humanitarian initiatives.
