EMS director celebrates retirement

Jan 1, 2024

Friday, Dec. 29 marked the official last day for Wareham EMS Director David '60' Evans.

Evans served the town of Wareham for 42 years. Members from Wareham Fire, Onset Fire Rescue, Wareham EMS, Wareham Police Department and other town departments held a parade for Evans on Main Street as he headed home from his final shift.

"Your dedication to helping the residents and employees of the town is unmatched. We look forward to ‘seeing you around’ because let’s face it, nobody has the strength to pull that radio out of your hands, maybe just turn it off once in awhile. Thank you for the years of mentorship, selfless service, advice, leadership and being an all around great guy," said Wareham EMS.

"The Wareham Fire department would like to congratulate Wareham EMS Director David Evans on his retirement after 42 dedicated years of service to the residents in the Town of Wareham," the fire department said.
