A weeks-long investigation by police into heroin distribution ended with the arrest of two Wareham residents and the seizure of $4,500 cash, illegal drugs and drug-related paraphernalia on Sept. 11.

Police arrested Mario Ogletree, 31, and Christine Quinn, 28, at their home at 2 Cranberry Lane shortly after 11:30 a.m. following the execution of a search warrant for illegal drugs.

Ogletree and Quinn are currently on bail related to charges stemming from previous criminal drug charges. Both were arrested by Wareham detectives and charged with trafficking over 300 grams of heroin in May 2017.

Police said when officers entered the home on Monday, Quinn attempted to run from officers while Ogletree briefly struggled with detectives while attempting to conceal drugs. During the struggle, police said Ogletree dropped four plastic bags containing heroin before being placed into custody.

Police said narcotics and related paraphernalia was found in Ogletree’s bedroom, along with approximately $4,500 cash. Over 38 grams of heroin, 5 grams of cocaine, Suboxone strips, and approximately 40 unidentified pills were recovered throughout the room, along with plastic bags, cell phones and a digital scale, located in Ogletree’s car.

Also seized during the execution of the search warrant were more than 260 pairs of men’s and women’s sneakers and shoes, most of which were new, or collector’s items. Detectives estimate the shoe collection to be worth approximately $50,000.

Ogletree and Quinn were arrested at the scene and charged with the following criminal charges: trafficking heroin over 36 grams; possession class B substance with intent to distribute (cocaine); possession of class B substance (Suboxone); possession of class C substance (Clonazepam); possession of class E substance with intent to distribute (Amphetamine). Additionally, Ogletree was charged with resisting arrest.

Narcotics detection trained K-9 units from the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Department and the Massachusetts Department of Corrections assisted Wareham Police during the search.
